Yamaha NMAX 155 was first rumored to launch in Nepal on the NADA Auto Show held at Bhrikutimandap in 2019. With the rumors, MAW Enterprises, the authorized distributors of Yamaha Motorcycles in Nepal, confirmed the news at that time and now it has been officially launched.

Yamaha scooter with 155 cc engine is a powerful engine. You might not know, Yamaha Maxi scooter tends to have the higher capacity engines with bigger frame scooter. Before the Yamaha NMAX 155, we all got to see the Suzuki Burgman with Suzuki’s Maxi scooters. But Suzuki Burgman, has the 125cc engine derived from the Suzuki Access scooter.
Yamaha’s Maxi scooter, NMAX 155 gets the same engine which we get in the Yamaha YZF R15 Version 3.0 featuring Yamaha’s Variable Valve Actuation (VVA). Yamaha NMAX is powered by 155 cc Liquid-Cooled FI Blue Core Engine, same as Yamaha R15 V3. This engine can generate the max power of 14.75 PS @ 8000 RPM and the max torque of 14.4 NM @ 6000 RPM. NMAX 155 has the fuel capacity of 6.6 L, which is fair enough.
The Yamaha’s VVA works for improving torque and power on low speeds and high speeds respectively.
Braking with ABS
We might have heard about ABS in bikes and some of the scooters from the Aprilia. And as per information, Aprilia Nepal doesn’t imports ABS versions Scooter in Nepal. But now with the Yamaha NMAX 155 we get to see the ABS in a scooter. ABS (Anti-Lock Braking) helps lot in the performance of braking. The system works not to lock the wheels while we brake hard in any high speed and maintain stability by not locking the wheels.
