Xiaomi Mi TV Stick Overview
First thing first, the device is very compact and measures 92.4 x 30.2 x 15.2mm in dimension and weighs 28.5g. On the first glimpse, it’s hard to believe that such a small stick which simply fits in a pocket is a device running Android TV. It comes in a single black color option with a dual tone finish and a MI logo.
On the box, you will get an adapter for power supply, a Mi-TV-style voice remote and the TV stick itself which looks like a USB flash drive. But you won’t get the triple-A batteries that the remote requires.
Similarly, the remote also looks simple and intuitive. This Bluetooth remote’s only highlight is a button for Google search, and two customized buttons for Netflix and Amazon prime video. Also the remote can be used to control other smart devices.
Moving on to the internals, the all-new Mi TV Stick is driven by a quad-core CPU with Cortex A53 cores clocked at 2.0GHz. It is paired with an ARM Mali-450 GPU. Likewise, it teams up with 1GB of DDR4 RAM and 8GB eMMC of Internal storage. Whereas the software portion is handled by Android TV 9.0. Therefore, you can easily access Google Services to store and download streaming apps Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney Plus, Youtube, HBO, Redbull TV, Spotify, Twitch, etc
In addition, if the app that meets your requirements isn’t found on the Play Store, you can also copy transferapk files through the TV File Commander and install third-party Android apps on your TV.
As mentioned in the beginning, it only outputs the content up to 1080p (1920 x 1080 pixels) at 60fps. However, the 1080P resolution may not be able to satisfy the requirements of all users. Since most TVs already support 4K media play.
Moreover, the device has a Built-in Chromecast. With Chromecast, you can easily cast your favorite movies, shows, apps, games, and more from smart devices directly to your TV screen. But remember, the resolution still remains at 1080P.
Further, the TV stick supports DTS and Dolby multichannel HD audio decoding. So, besides delivering good HD content, you can also have dynamic and realistic stereo surround sound.
More on the connectivity, the Mi TV stick features 1 x HDMI, 1 X MicroUSB for power input, dual-band WiFi, and Bluetooth 4.2.
How to pair the Mi TV Stick with Remote?
