Xiaomi kicked off its mega event with the launch of Mi 11 Pro. It is the elder sibling of the standard Mi 11 that comes with many improvements. The CEO of Xiaomi Lei Jun describes the phone as the “king of Android” and it certainly boasts some top notch specs. Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro Overview
Display and Design
The Mi 11 Pro uses a 6.81” curved Samsung E4 AMOLED quad-curved flexible screen. It is a 10bit display that supports 2K videos and also uses a 120Hz refresh rate. The panel also boast features like Dolby Vision, SGS display protection certification, a maximum brightness of 1700 nits, a DisplayMate A+ certification and HDR10+ certification. In terms of display protection, the phone features Corning Gorilla Glass Victus. It is the toughest Gorilla Glass in the market that offers 1.5X anti-fall and 2X scratch resistance than its predecessor.
The handset features a curved back made of glass and keeps the camera housing design of the Mi 11. It comes in three colors greyish black, green, and purple. Likewise, it supports IP68 dust and water resistance. According to the company it can withstand 43m deep water without pressure.
The Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro weighs just 208g and has a thickness of 8.53mm, thanks to the new battery technology used. To recall the Xiaomi Mi 11 weighs 196g with a 4,600mAh battery.
Performance and Memory
Under the hood, Mi 11 Pro comes with the most powerful smartphone chip in the Android camp i.e. Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC. In addition to the processor, the chip is backed by LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage.
Further, Xiaomi has used the new phase-changing cooling system that helps to keep the device cool. The company claims that in their test, after 30 minutes of Genshin Impact gameplay, the temperature was 49.3° Celsius, thanks to its large 150mm vapor chamber and accompanying copper heat sinks.
Linking the hardware is a MIUI 12.5 based on Android 11 out of the box.
The camera department is one of the major upgrades over the standard Mi 11 and flanked by Samsung GN2 sensor. Samsung ISOCELL GN2 sensor offers up to 50MP with a 1/1.12″ sensor size. the largest camera sensor in a mobile till now. Also, it is the first camera with a Dual Pixel Pro and has Dual Native ISO Fusion, Stagger HDR, OIS, an f/1.95 aperture, and an 8P lens.
Further, it uses an 8MP f/3.4 periscope zoom lens with OIS. The lens has a focal length of 120mm and offers up to 5x optical zoom and 50x digital zoom. The third camera is a 13MP f/2.4 ultrawide angle sensor with a 5P lens like the periscope camera and offers with 123° FOV. Lastly, there’s also a dual-tone LED flash that sits beside the camera housing.
Over the front is a 20MP sensor for capturing awesome selfies. The handset can record 8K footage and can also capture slow-motion videos at 1920 fps.
Battery and Miscellaneous
Fueling the handset is a 5,000mAh battery which uses a new battery tech for a thinner design. The company has used a Silicon Oxygen anode cell similar to the one used in electric automotive industries, making it the first smartphone to use the tech. This battery boasts higher density, better conductivity and faster charging in a slimmer profile. Also, this tech gives the device a longer life as well as faster charging capabilities. In terms of charging, it supports 67W fast charging (wired and wireless) that can full charge the device in just 36 minutes. Further, it also supports 10W reverse charging.
Meanwhile, the phone also comes with high quality stereo dual speakers, professionally tuned by Harman Kardon. Other notable feature includes NFC, an IR blaster, Wi-Fi 6E that offers a maximum theoretical speed of 3.5Gbps.

Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro Price in Nepal and Availability
Mi 11 Pro is up for pre-order in China with the base variant starting at 4,999 Yuan. The first official sale of this phone will take place on April 2nd.
Xiaomi Nepal is certain to launch the Mi 11 in Nepal under the price tag of 1 Lakh. However, we’re not sure about the Pro variant. If the company launches it here, Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro price in Nepal is expected to start at Rs 95,000.
