Xiaomi Mi 11, the first flagship phone of 2021 from the company was launched globally on 8th February, 2021. However, the handset was announced in the home country China back in December. The Chinese variant was one of the first smartphones to hit the market with the flagship Snapdragon 888 chipset. And the best part the handset has landed in Nepal. Display and Design

Xiaomi Mi 11 flaunts a curved AMOLED display that measures 6.81 inches. The panel has WQHD+ resolution of 3200 x 1440 pixels and a punch hole resides at the top left corner to house a selfie camera. The display features a 120Hz AdaptiveSync refresh rate and up to 480Hz touch sampling rate, along with 1,500 nits of peak brightness. AdaptiveSync refresh rate feature automatically switches between 30Hz to 120Hz refresh rates based on the content on the screen.

Further, the display of Mi 11 has set 13 new DisplayMate Records including the phone with the highest native color gamut, highest contrast ratio, and highest visible screen resolution according to the company. Similarly, Xiaomi has integrated an in-display heart rate scanner that allows you to measure your heart rate at any time. Moving on the display also upscale content to up to 3x their original resolution. Lastly, it is protected by the Gorilla Glass Victus.

Camera

The flagship phone features three cameras on the back. The primary sensor is a 108MP wide angle camera accompanied with 13MP 123° ultrawide angle camera and a 5MP “telemacro” camera.  There is a 20MP camera upfront for video calling and selfies. Except for the telemacro camera, all other camera sensors have support for night mode photography. Also, the sensors are enhanced with several AI features like MagicZoom, Parallel World, Freeze Frame, Time Freeze, and more.

In terms of video, Xiaomi is marketing the phone as a #MovieMagic. The handset supports 8K footage and HDR10+ video recording. Similarly, the camera module supports ultra-night video mode and 8 cinematic video filters.

Performance and Memory

In the heart of Mi 11, resides a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC. It is the latest flagship chipset from Qualcomm. Unlike the Chinese variant that comes in 8GB and 12GB RAM, the global variant only comes in 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM. Meanwhile you can choose between two storage options: 128GB and 256GB of UFS 3.1 onboard storage.

The handset boots on the new MIUI 12.5 based on Android 11. Xiaomi says that this new MIUI has been optimized to decrease memory usage and power consumption by 15%. Similarly, it is the first Xiaomi phone to run on the new MIUI out of the box.

Battery and Miscellaneous

Fueling the handset, is a decent 4,600mAh battery. It supports 55W fast wired charging, 50W fast wireless charging, and 10W reverse wireless charging. Both the wired and wireless charging technology can charge the phone from empty to full in less than an hour. The Chinese Mi 11 doesn’t come with a charger in the box (users can get a charger for free if they want), the global version of the phone is shipped with a 55W GaN charger in the box. It also comes with an antibacterial case and screen protector.
