Xiaomi has officially launched the brand-new Mi 10T series. Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro is the most hyped smartphone in the series. The series includes two other smartphones- Mi 10T and Mi 10T Lite. The series is the successor to the last year Mi 9T series with a heavier emphasis on specs. These devices promise to bring a slew of new software, camera and features. Among the three, Mi10T and Mi 10T Pro are the first from Xiaomi to feature a 144Hz display. Whereas, Mi 10T Lite is a mid-tier 5G smartphone. Said that, let’s dive into other features of Xiaomi’s latest flagship Mi 10T Pro with its expected price and availability in Nepal.
Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro Overview
The Mi 10T Pro is an upgrade over Mi 10 Pro that was launched in February. Moreover, the handset shares some of the features. The biggest selling point of the handset is the reduced price with Snapdragon 865 SoC, a competitive camera, 144hz display and bigger 5,00mAh battery.
Display and Design
The new flagship flaunts a 6.67” LCD panel with 1080p + resolution. On top of it, it comes with 144Hz AdoptiveSync refresh rate which you’d expect from a high-end gaming monitor. With the AdaptiveSync the refresh rate can go down all the way to 30Hz to fit the content and max out at 144Hz. There are intermediate modes like 48Hz for movies, 60Hz for regular videos, 90Hz and 120Hz too. Similarly, the display is HDR10+ certified and boasts up to 650nits brightness.
Though the handset uses LCD panel, the fingerprint scanner is integrated into the power button. Further, the display has a tiny punch hole at the top left corner for a selfie camera. Front and back panel is protected by a 2.5D curved Gorilla Glass 5 sheet. The frames are made of aluminum alloy. And there is a huge camera bump on the rear panel.
The Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro has a triple camera setup on its back. The setup is highlighted by a 108MP primary sensor. The 1/1.33” sensor stretches across the double-wide bump. It features 4-in-1 binning and f/1.7 lens adds optical image stabilization. Assisting the primary sensor you’ll find a 13MP 123-degree ultrawide camera with f/2.4 lens and 5Mp macro camera which can focus between 2cm and 10cm. The setup is capable of recording 8k footage at 30fps.
As we can see four smaller modules are there below the primary sensor of which two are lenses. Third one is an LED flash. And as far as I can tell, the last one is a non-functional component to keep things looking symmetrical.
The tiny little punch on the front hosts a 20MP camera. It supports HDR, a night mode and a 120fps slow motion video.
An octa-core Snapdragon 865 chipset powers the device. It supports 5G connectivity. The Snapdragon 865 mobile platform is fabricated on TSMC’s 7nm N7P foundry process. The chipset comes with an Adreno 650 GPU with support for the Vulkan graphics. Further it teams with 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB or 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage.
The haptics engine adds more premium flavor to the user experience. The X-axis vibration motor on the handset is tuned to respond to vibrations of varying intensities. It also features liquid cooling to cool the device during intensive gaming.
Likewise, the smartphone runs on custom MIUI 12 skin based on Android 10.
Battery and Miscellaneous
As for the battery, Xiaomi has managed to fit a 5,000mAh pack with support for up to 33W fast charging. Well, it is ahead of most competing flagship devices. Xiaomi claims that it can charge from 0 to 100% in 59 minutes.
