Tecno, a Chinese smartphone brand, has announced a new budget friendly gaming centric phone in the Philippines. The new phone is dubbed as Tecno POVA 2 which is a direct follow-up of last year’s Tecno POVA. The latest phone brings several upgrades over the predecessor such as faster chipset, massive battery and a fast charging. Having said that, let’s dive into the specs, features and expected price of Tecno POVA 2 in Nepal along with its availability.
Tecno POVA 2 Overview
Display and Design
Tecno Pova 2 flaunts a large 6.9-inch IPS LCD screen. The Full HD+ centered punch hole display has a resolution of 1080 x 2460 pixels. It comes with a standard 60Hz refresh rate but boasts a 180Hz touch sampling rate for faster screen response time. The display is surrounded by thin bezels but is prominent on the bottom.
Moving on, the smartphone comes with a polycarbonate body as most of the devices in the budget segment. There’s a rectangular camera module and a Tecno Pova branding on its rear. Likewise, there’s also a vertical strip in the middle of the rear panel giving it flashier looks. It is available in shades of blue, black, and silver.
Performance and Memory
Under the hood, the Pova 2 packs a MediaTek’s gaming centric processor as seen in the first generation. This time Tecno has gone with a slightly more powerful Helio G85 chipset. It is a 12 nm chip with the prime core clocked at 2.0GHz and paired with a Mali G52 MC2 GPU. Compared to the G80 chip used in the first iteration, this one runs its GPU at a slightly higher clock.
Anyways, the handset comes with more memory as standard with 6GB RAM and 128GB onboard storage. The latter can be expanded by inserting a microSD card if necessary.
Software-wise, the Pova 2 operates on HiOS 7.6 based on Android 11 out of the box.
Camera
In terms of optics, the handset features a quad-camera setup on its rear. The setup is highlighted by a 48MP primary camera (up from 13MP) with an aperture of f/1.8 followed by triple 2MP lens for macro, depth, and AI lens.
Upfront, there’s an 8MP selfie snapper inside the punch hole.
Battery and Miscellaneous
Fueling the phone is the massive 7,000mAh battery. It is the biggest battery in the budget segment till now. Also the handset support for 18W fast charging.
For connectivity, the handset offers support for dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, 3.5mm headphone jack and a Type-C port.
Lastly, there is a side mounted fingerprint reader and a face unlock for security.

Tecno Pova 2 Price in Nepal and Availability
The Pova 2 is priced at PHP 7,990 in the Philippines for the 6/128GB variant. Soon the handset will launch in India and there are chances of its launch in Nepal as it launches India. Tecno Pova 2 price in Nepal is expected at Rs. 22,000, if and when it launches in the country.
