Display and Design

The S20 FE packs a bigger screen than S20 and smaller than S20+. So, the screen size is of 6.5” Super AMOLED display panel with FHD+ resolution. The panel comes with the same 120Hz refresh rate. Also, having the touch sampling rate of 240Hz. It has an aspect ratio of 20:9 and boasts 84.8% screen-to-body ratio. The screen size is changed and also the protection. This model has Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. However, it features HDR10+ and AoD.

The big change can be seen instead of glass back there is a plastic made back which comes with an Aluminum frame. The curve edge on display is removed in this model as well. In addition, there is an under display optical fingerprint scanner instead of ultra-sonic. Also, it comes with IP68 dust and water resistant. Furthermore, it is available in six different color options: Cloud Lavender, Cloud Mint, Cloud Navy, Cloud White, Cloud Red and Cloud Orange.

Camera

Moving on to the cameras, few changes over the triple camera setup is done. The 64 MP telephoto lens from S20 is replaced by an 8 MP telephoto lens. Primary sensor is the same of 12 MP with an f/1.8 aperture. And same another 12 MP ultra-wide camera with f/2.2 lens. Also, the front camera is changed by now having a 32 MP sensor on the punch-hole setup.

Before checking over the chipset used in this model, the user should 4G variant and 5G variant does not have the same chipset. Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chip. Whereas, Galaxy S20 FE 4G/LTE is powered by Exynos 990 chip. Making changes over CPU and GPU too.

It comes with 6 GB and 8 GB of RAM variants paired with 128 GB and 256 GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. Storage can be expanded using a microSD card but shares SIM slots. Furthermore, it boots on One UI 2.5 based on Android 10.

Battery and Miscellaneous

Talking about the battery, it has 4,500 mAh battery which is the same in Galaxy S20+ too. It supports 25W fast charging with USB Power Delivery 3.0. However, in-box you will get a 15W adapter only. Furthermore, it has wireless charging support and also reverse charging.

The handset is already available for purchase on Samsung.com website. They have priced the device at $700 for a 5G 128GB variant which is $300 cheaper than normal S20.

Similarly, Samsung Nepal had launched the Galaxy S20 FE in Nepal a month back on end of October. The available variant of S20 FE is 8/128 GB is priced at Rs. 69,999. And, the latest 8/256 GB variant is in now launched with the price tag of Rs. 74,999. They all are LTE variants. Also, the new Cloud Lavender color option is available now.
