Ripple Artifact Pro Overview

Display and Design

Ripple Artifact Pro is a compact laptop which gives a premium feel as the bezels are kept quite minimal. Moreover, the standard 15-inch laptop is made of plastic with a semi-metal finish. It is available in single black color options and boasts a thickness of 19.9mm, and weighs 1.9 kilograms. According to the brand it is the lightest RTX 2060 laptop on the market.

Moving forward to the display, the Artifact Pro features a 15.6-inch Full HD IPS panel with a refresh rate of 144 Hz. The display pushes 1920×1080 resolution. The keyboard features a chiclet-key design and the keys are backlit with RGB configuration. Besides that, the laptop makes use of Microsoft precision touchpad for precise touch response.

Performance and Memory

The ‘Ripple Artifact Pro’ is loaded with an AMD Ryzen 7 4800H processor. It is a high performance mobile SoC for big laptops based on the Renoir architecture. The SoC integrates all eight cores based on the Zen 2 microarchitecture. They are clocked at 2.9GHz (base), can be overclocked as high as 4.2GHz and support SMT / Hyperthreading (16 threads). This chip is manufactured in the modern 7 nm process at TSMC which brings balance between performance and power. Similarly, the graphics is handled by NVIDIA’s RTX 2060 Max-P with 6GB of GDDR6 VRAM. Likewise, there’s also a RTX 3060 variant but the company hasn’t disclosed its wattage.

You might get confused with the Max-P and Max-Q terms if you are less familiar with the technical aspect. Max-Q is a term Nvidia uses to describe design methodologies and technologies that allow graphics chips to be stuffed into thin, light gaming laptops without melting them. Likewise, the Max-P often used by laptop manufacturers stands for “max performance”. Typically, that’s going to mean that you’re getting a full-wattage, full speed mobile graphics system.

When it comes to performance, laptops with GeForce Max-Q graphics are less powerful than equivalent laptops without the Max-Q label. That’s because Max-Q uses less power.

Here, the laptop uses Max-P version of RTX 2060 which will be consuming more power and delivering enhanced level performance. As it consumes more power, it generates more heat so requires strong cooling exhaust. Thus, there’s four exhaust, 2 on the sides and 2 on the back. Similarly, cooling the CPU is a Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut thermal paste. Meanwhile, the fans installed in their laptops have a max speed of 8000 RPM according to the company.

In terms of memory, Ripple Artifact Pro comes in 8GB or 16GB of DDR4 RAM options. Both the memory variants are teamed with an M.2 2280 256GB SSD. Meanwhile, additional 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD, or 1TB HDD can be added for Rs 5,000 each.

Battery and Miscellaneous

Fueling the whole package is a 62Wh Li-Po cell which is compatible with a power supply of 180 watts. It boasts high-definition audio with its loud stereo speakers.

For connectivity, it is fitted with WiFi 802.11 ax and Bluetooth v5.0.  Similarly, for I/O communication the laptop hosts a single USB 2.0 Type-A, two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A, one USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port (DisplayPort compatible), two mini DisplayPort 1.4 (G-SYNC compatible), one HDMI 2.0, one headphone out, one mic-in, one RJ45, and a card reader that accepts SD, SDHC, or SDXC memory cards.

In the meantime, you can also under/overclock the CPU and GPU, monitor system resources, switch performance profiles, customize keyboard macros, etc. Besides the hardware customization inside, RippleDevice will customize the exterior looks of the Artifact Pro including laser engravings and laptop stickers upon a customer’s request. It will cost extra though.
