Realme Watch S Overview
The first gen Realme Watch resembled more like an Apple Watch due its square display. But Watch S looks nothing like it. Unlike, its first generation, the display is wrapped in fancier Aluminum Alloy case. Likewise, the straps are made from silicone and are easily removable.
Additionally, it comes with an IP68 water resistant. So, you don’t have to worry about everyday use. It can resist water up to 1.5m depth. Although, Realme says it’s not suitable for use whe swimming and taking shower.
The watch comes in black colour. However, the straps are colourful. There are four differently coloured straps namely Orange, Blue, Green and Black. Further, there are two physical buttons on the right side of the case whereas the bottom is magnetic charging base.
The 1.3” circular LCD touchscreen has a resolution of 360×360 pixels. It features photosensitive sensor that automatically adopts to the brightness of the ambient light, giving a comfortable viewing experience. Similarly, it is protected by Corning’s Gorilla Glass. The company hasn’t mentioned exactly which one, but we assume Gorilla Glass 3 as first gen had the same.
Furthermore, the company says 100 cool watch faces will be made in the coming months which you can use for 3 moths without repeating. However, we are unknown about how many faces are available out of the box. The first gen Realme watch had 12 faces out of the box.
Sensors and Connectivity
Like Realme Watch, the Watch S features a PPG heart rate sensor as well as SpO2 sensor. The heart rate sensor tracks the real-time heart rate 24 hours whereas the SpO2 monitors blood oxygen level. Other sensors are 3-axis accelerometer, photosensitive sensor (mentioned above) and wearing monitor sensor.
The Watch S support Bluetooth 5.0 for connecting smartphone. It can be connected to any Android handset running Android 5.0 or later using Realme Link app. However, it can’t be connected to iOS devices.
The watch supports 16 different sports modes. Namely they are outdoor run, outdoor cycle, walk, aerobic capacity. Indoor run, stationary bike, table tennis, indoor cycle, basketball, football, elliptical, badminton, yoga, cricket, rowing machine and strength training. Among them Stationary Bike and Rowing Machine are latest addition.
The smartwatch also provides notifications about incoming calls, SMS, and application notifications. Other features include sleep monitoring, music controls, camera shutter, find my phone, no disturb mode, shake adjustment, and weather forecast.
Battery and Miscellaneous
Fueling the smartwatch is a 390mAh battery. In normal usage, it is rated to last for 15 days. You can charge it conveniently through magnetic charging base.
