Realme Buds Q2 Overview
Design
The newly launched Realme Buds Q2 presents a premium build. The true wireless earphones retain the design as the Buds Q. However, it offers a new Kaleidoscope lamination process with a unique looking surface on the area of touch interaction. Moreover, these buds pack a lightweight design weighing just 4.1g, making them comfortable to wear.

Apart from the buds, the charging case looks similar to the first iteration with a compact egg-shaped design. There’s a LED indicator, which gives the user information about the battery status. And sadly, the case uses a micro USB port for charging. Similarly, the whole package weighs just 39 grams making it comfortable to carry around.

These TWS can be your perfect companion for gym and workout sessions as they are IPX4 rated. Therefore, they can handle sweats or even a bit of water. The Buds Q2 comes in two color options: black and blue.
Noise Cancellation
The TWS boasts the Environmental Noise Cancellation(ENC), it doesn’t support Active Noise Cancellation(ANC). The ENC only works during a phone call which blocks ambient noise so that your voice is more clear during the call. For audio during playback, you have to rely on the tight fit of the eartips to provide passive noise cancellation. Sigh of relief, Realme provides interchangeable eartips as these are in-ear style earbuds without stem design.
Additionally, there’s a game mode which when activated takes the latency down to 88ms. This feature is activated with a long press on both the buds simultaneously. It is 50% better than the first Buds Q.
Connectivity and Controls
In terms of connectivity, the Realme Buds Q2 harnesses Bluetooth 5.0 chip with a 10mm bass boost dynamic driver. Realme calls it a Bass Boost+. You get a standard range of connection i.e. 10 meters. It supports AAC and SBC codecs. You will get options to customize between BassBosst+, Dynamic, and Bright sound effects when paired with companion Realme Link app.
Further, it gets instantly connected as soon as you pick it up from the box. Likewise, Realme link App provides some set of customizations.
The patterned touch panel on both the buds lets the user to play/pause, answer calls or turn on/off Game Mode. You can double-tap to play/pause music or answer/end calls depending on the situation, triple tap to skip track, long press to reject a call. Similarly, long-press on both buds to enter/exit game mode. Sadly, the volume control is missing here.
Battery and miscellaneous

In terms of battery life, the Buds Q2 offers up to 20 hours of use with the charging case. It offers 5 hours of playback time with the buds itself whereas the additional three cycles are added via case. Similarly, 10 minutes of charging is enough for 2 hours of playback. Likewise, it takes an hour and 40 minutes to fully charge the TWS.
