Realme gained lots of popularity in a short period with its affordable smartphones. This success not only comes from its smartphones, IoT products also contribute to them. The company in late February launched the Realme Buds. And now, they have debuted a cheaper version of these truly wireless earphones called Realme Buds Air 2 Neo along with Buds Air 2. Realme Buds Air 2 Neo Overview

Design

The newly launched Realme Buds resembles a lot like a Realme Buds Q from last year. However, Realme has replaced the company’s logo with an eye-catching colorful button. And this rainbow like touch sensitive area looks a lot cooler in my opinion. Also, the microphone and LED indicator are distinctly visible.

Moving on, the charging case uses the same pebble shaped design with a button inside. This button will be used for pairing with different devices. Similarly, the LED on the case indicates different charging status. There’s also a USB Type-C port for charging.

Further, this latest TWS comes in two colors, namely Active Black and Calm Gray. The colors of the buds correspond with the case colors. Likewise, the earbuds are IPX5 splash resistant meaning they are resistant to sweat and rain.

Noise Cancellation

With these buds, the company brings ANC (Active Noise Cancellation) and ENC (Environmental Noise Cancellation) to the masses enabled by the custom Realme R2 chip. Realme says that the ‘ANC Mode’ can reduce external noise up to 25dB. Then there’s a ‘Transparency Mode’ that comes handy when you need to chat with someone in person. Also, the dual mics helps in-call noise cancellation while talking with some remote.

Furthermore, the earbuds also come with a low latency mode (up to 88ms) for gaming sessions.

Connectivity and Controls

In terms of connectivity, the Buds Air 2 Neo harnesses Bluetooth 5.2. Each bud connects to your device with an individual Bluetooth 5.2 link. Here, the dual channel transmission syncs both the left and right earbuds. The buds support AAC as well as SBC audio codecs for playback. The TWS also supports Google Fast Pair.

The touch sensitive area lets you control the music and answer/end calls. Also, it can be used to switch Noise Cancelling Mode and Transparency Mode. Likewise, you can pair it with a Realme Link app to access more control. The app allows you to set the noise cancellation level, adjust the equalizer, turn on Gaming mode and so on.

As far as battery life is concerned it boasts 480mAh power. The buds themselves lasts up to 7 hours of playback with ANC disabled and 5 hours with ANC enabled. Whereas, with the charging case, you can get up to 28-hour battery life with ANC off and 20-hour playback with ANC on. Moreover, with only 10 minutes of charging gets you 3 hours of playback time.
