Realme unveiled Realme 7 5G as the latest offering from the company whereas in Nepal Realme just launched Realme 7 and 7i. The latest smartphone from the company is almost indistinguishable from the Realme 7 Pro, the 7 5G is far from the same phone on the inside. The most notable difference is that this handset packs a 5G chipset, making it one of the cheapest phones on the market with dual 5G capabilities.
Realme 7 5G Overview
Display and Design
This handset makes use of a 6.5” LCD with an FHD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. It comes with a 120Hz Ultra Smooth Display coupled with a 180Hz sampling rate. Likewise, the punch-hole display offers a pixel density of 405PPI. It has an aspect ratio of 20:9. Further, the display comes protected with Corning’s Gorilla Glass. However, the company hasn’t revealed which version of glass but we assume it to be Gorilla Glass 3 as the non 5G model.
Like the non 5G model, the 5G variant also brings a mirror split design which creates a series of patterns when light hits it. You will get a slightly wider rectangular camera bump and the straight line across the bump divides the panel into different color schemes. Here, the power button doubles as the fingerprint sensor that you’ll find on the right side.
In terms of optics, Realme 7 5G packs a 48MP primary shooter with a 1/1.73” sensor with f/1.8 aperture. Here, an 8MP ultrawide snapper with a 119-degree field of view and f/2.3 aperture acts as a secondary camera. The third module is a 2MP monochrome sensor. Lastly, a 2MP macro shooter completes the rear camera setup. Upfront, there’s a 16MP selfie camera housed in the punch hole cutout on the top left corner.
Realme has provided preloaded camera features for the front as well as rear. The rear camera module features Ultra 48MP Mode, Super Nightscape Mode, Tripod Mode, UIS Max Video Stabilization, and a Cinema Mode. Similarly, the front features Bokeh Effect, AI Beauty, HDR, and Super Nightscape.
Performance and Memory
Under the hood, the phone is powered by MediaTek’s Density 800U 5G chipset. The 7nm chip is an octa-core processor. It comes with an integrated 5G modem and dual 5G SIM support. Density 800U brings two 2.4GHz Cortex-A76 performance cores and six 2.0Ghz Cortex-A55 units. The handset comes in two memory configurations – 6/128GB and 8/128GB.
Battery and Miscellaneous
The handset packs a decent 5,000mAh battery with support for 30W Dart Charging. Realme says that it can juice the device from 0 to 100% in just 65 minutes. Similarly, the phone boots on Realme UI based on Android 10.
