Oppo Reno 6 Pro 5G debuted in India with Dimensity 1200 SoC

Oppo has finally launched the Oppo Reno 6 series in India after teasing for a while. The company has unveiled two models for Indian market i.e. Oppo Reno 6 Pro and the vanilla Reno 6. They are the same model that was unveiled in China back in May. Here, we’ll look at the specs, features and expected price of Oppo Reno 6 Pro in Nepal along with its availability.

Oppo Reno 6 Pro 5G Overview

Display and Design

Oppo Reno 6 Pro sports a 6.55-inch AMOLED panel with a FHD resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels. It is a 90Hz panel with up to 180Hz touch sampling rate. The panel boasts a peak brightness of 800 nits (typical), 402 PPI pixel density and 92.1% screen-to-body ratio.

Similarly, it supports 16.7 million colors and 100% DCI-P3 color gamut. Likewise, the handset grabs SGS Eye Care certification, Netflix HD certification, along with Amazon Prime Video HD & HDR Certifications for better content consumptions

Further, the punch hole display is protected by Corning Gorilla glass 5. Also, the phone features an in-display fingerprint scanner.

Coming to the design, the smartphone features a Reno Glow design with flat edges. The slightly similar glow design was first seen on the Reno 5 Pro 5G. The company used a unique etching technique to bring a subtle sparkling finish to the anti glare glass. As explained by Oppo the whole back designing process involves 50 complex steps including glass cutting, 3D forming, ion exchange, and etching.

Meanwhile, the device measures 160 x 73.1 x 7.6mm in dimension and weighs 177g making it both thin and light. The rear features a quad camera arrangement. Similarly, the handset is available in three different color options: Summer Sunny Sea, Stars into a Dream, and Night Sea.

Performance and Memory

Underneath, the Oppo Reno 6 Pro 5G comes equipped with a Dimensity 1200 5G SoC. The 6nm octa-core processor max out at 3GHz. This chipset coupled with Mali-G77 MC9 GPU delivers a flagship performance.

Moving on the handset is available in single configurations i.e. 12/256GB. The RAM used here is based on LPDDR4x technology and storage is based on UFS 3.1. Nevertheless, Oppo has packed the phones with a virtual RAM feature which allows you to use 7 gigs of storage as RAM. However, you don’t get an option to expand the storage as no microSD slot is available.

Further, the handset ships with ColorOS 11.3 on top of Android 11.

Camera

Oppo has added a couple of interesting camera features in this phone. The quad camera arrangement is led by a 64MP sensor with an f/1.7 aperture. It is accompanied by an 8MP ultrawide shooter with f/2.2 aperture and 120-degree FOV. Other sensors in the setup are a pair of 2MP lenses for macro and depth shots.

Upfront, the phone uses a 32MP shooter with f/2.4 aperture and an 81-degree FOV for social media ready selfies.

The camera app packs a slew of features but the interesting one is the new Bokeh Flare Portrait mode. It works for both videos and photos. Basically, what it does is create a creamy bokeh in the background. Other camera features are night scene, professional mode, slow-motion, super text, cute shooting, and so on.

Battery and Miscellaneous

The Reno 6 Pro is backed by a 4,500mAh battery. It recharges via USB Type-C port at the rate of 65W (SuperVOOC 2.0). Oher notable features are Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, and 3.5 headphone jack. Unfortunately, it comes with a single speaker only.

Oppo Reno 6 Pro 5G will go on a sale in India from July 20 via Flipkart and offline resellers. You have to spend INR 39,990 in order to purchase it.
