OnePlus Buds Z Overview
Design
OnePlus have changed the overall design of the buds compared to OnePlus Buds. Also, those were criticized as they resembled Apple’s AirPods. The new buds have the silicone ear tips whereas the original buds didn’t have one. The Buds Z has the distinctive looks with the stem. Each earbud weighs 4.35 grams only which is light weight.
The charging case is also changed entirely. Now, it resembles more to the Samsung Galaxy Buds+. These earbuds are IP55 rated which means the buds are rain and sweat resistant.
The charging case LED indicators just below the lid. There is a USB Type-C charging port and also a button. Also, the OnePlus logo is embossed on the lid itself.
Sound Quality
The Buds Z has the 10 mm driver which is smaller than the original buds and is the one reason for being cheaper. About the sound, it comes with Dolby Atmos which helps is giving precise 3D Audio experience. It also has the Bass Boost technology to enhance the bass on the sound.
Connectivity and Features
Buds Z supports the wireless transmission via Bluetooth v5.0. Bluetooth v5.0 allows 10 meter of connectivity range. These buds come with Quick Pair features which allow earbuds to automatically connect with the last paired device. Only when taken out of the case. And there is another feature called Quick Switch which allows transmission between recently paired devices. This will make it easier to change the device in just a few seconds.
For that, the user will have to touch and hold the control on either of the earbuds for up to 3 seconds. The most interesting feature is dedicated Gaming mode. This will help in bringing down the latency as low as 103ms.
Others are: it is capable of auto play and pause when taken out of the ear. Just like other normal earbuds.
Battery and Miscellaneous
Going for the battery life, the charging case has the 450 mAh battery capacity. Only earbuds can provide 5 hours of music time on a single charge. Adding a charging case can provide additional 15 hours of music time. Making it 20 hours for straight when charged fully.
There is a fast charge option in these buds. 10 minutes of charge is capable of providing 3 hours of playback time.
Availability and Price of OnePlus Buds Z in Nepal
They were announced on the launch event along with OnePlus 8T. They are only available in white colors only. Also, a special edition will be available exclusively on OnePlus.com. The Steven Harrington special edition: which will cost $60 which is around Canadian $85.
The actual price of OnePlus Buds Z is $49.99 which is around CA$70 or €60. In India, price is placed at INR 3,190. Pre-book will save INR 200, making it INR 2,990.
