OnePlus 8, new flagship phone from OnePlus 8 series is finally available in Nepal. Though the phone was launched back in April, due to lockdown situation it has been delayed in Nepal. OnePlus 8 borrows similar kind of look from the OnePlus 7 with a punch front camera setup this time. Basically, OnePlus 8 is budget flagship smartphone with high specifications in the segment. OnePlus 8 gives high competition against other flagship phone with similar specs. And also, it has a sibling in series, OnePlus 8 Pro.

The OnePlus 8 comes with a 6.55” display with a punch-hole cutout in the top left corner for the front camera. The display type used is Fluid AMOLED and has Full HD+ resolution of 1080×2400 pixels with 402 PPIdensity. The screen as rounded corners like older siblings of OnePlus which means Curved Screen Edge with Waterfall-style. The screen supports up to 90Hz refresh rate having 60Hz as default refresh rate. The display also adds an optical in-display fingerprint sensor underneath which is fast and exact even used at different angles.

The handset has a finest design with a glass back framed by aluminum. There’s a three camera setup aligned straight on the rear same as OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro and the punch-hole setup for the front camera. The OnePlus 8 has Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection both side (front and rear).

OnePlus 8 presents 3 camera lens with wide, ultra wide and macro. Where it doesn’t have telephoto lens. The primary sensor Sony IMX586 is of 48 MP with aperture of F/1.75, a 2 MP macro sensor with f/2.4 aperture and a 16 MP ultra-wide sensor with aperture of f/2.2 having 116° wide field of view. There’s a Sony IMX471 16 MP front camera lens of aperture of f/2.45 on the front punch hole setup.

Under the performance, there’s a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 CPU with Dual Mode 5G connectivity using Snapdragon X55 modem. One plus 8 is designed with 8 GB and 12 GB of LPDDR4X RAM paired by UFS 3.0 storage. The 8 GB variant comes with 128 GB of storage whereas 12GB variant has 256 GB storage of storage. The handset operates on OxygenOS 10.0 based on Android 10.0.

The OnePlus 8 has the 4,300 mAh non-removable battery which supports Warp Charge 30T Fast Charging (5V/6A). Also, OnePlus claims it to charge 1% to 50% in only 22 minutes. Some other features are Wi-FI 6, Bluetooth 5.1, NFC and dual-stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support

Price and Availability

OnePlus 8 is now available in Nepal and user can choose between Glacial Green, Onyx Black and Interstellar Glow. The high-end 12GB RAM and 256GB storage has made to Nepal for Rs. 93,000 and can be purchased via Olizstore. Whereas, the standard 8GB RAM and 128GB ROM is not available yet.
