Nokia has launched the Nokia 1.4, an entry-level smartphone in Nepal. It is a successor to the Nokia 1.3 launched last year. Display and design
Talking of the display, the Nokia 1.4 features a 6.51” LCD IPS display with an HD+ resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels. The panel uses a 20:9 aspect ratio. In contrast, its predecessor sports a 5.71” display.
Around the back, the phone features an Oreo-style camera design housing. Likewise, underneath it lies a fingerprint sensor and a Nokia branding. The handset is available in three finishes Fjord, Charcoal and Dusk.
Camera
For photography, the Oreo-style camera design hosts two cameras. The main camera here is an 8MP sensor and secondary camera is of 2MP. There’s also a 5MP camera on the front.
The phone relies on Google’s processing algorithms in the Camera Go app to elevate the basic camera features like Night and Portrait modes.
Performance and Memory
The handset is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 215 chipset. It is a 28nm chipset clocked at 1.3GHz packing quad Cortex-A53 processor and paired with Adreno 308 GPU. The processor is teamed with 1GB of RAM and packs 16GB of storage onboard which can be upgraded up to 128GB via microSD card. The phone also has a 2/32GB and 3/64GB version.
The phone runs on Android 10 Go Edition out of the box. Similarly, the company hints the device will get Android 11 Go later on.
Battery and miscellaneous
Fueling the handset is a 4,000mAh battery which is an upgrade from Nokia 1.3 3,000mAh. However, the charging speed is still 5W (worse still) and is piped through microUSB. Meanwhile, HMD is promising 2 days of battery life.
Furthermore, the phone comes with dual nano-SIM slots and LTE Cat. 4 connectivity. Also, the handset comes with Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, as well as a 3.5 mm headphone jack, and FM radio.
