Everyone has their eyes on an ADV bike or just a slightly off-roading bike like KTM Adventure and BMW GS310. However, these bikes are mostly highly priced in the market and most people can’t afford them. So, to give you a look at the all-new Motorhead Tekken R250, they have launched it with the most affordable price tag.
The SLR Techno and Trade Pvt. Ltd. is the authorized distributor of Motorhead bikes in Nepal. SLR is a subsidiary unit of SG Group. Motorhead had Tekken 250 earlier as well but wasn’t that popular among people. Tekken R250 has slight updates to the previous version of Tekken. So, let’s take a quick look around with the bike’s specifications, features, and price of Motorhead Tekken R250 in Nepal with its availability.
Motorhead Tekken R250 Overview
The all-new Tekken R250 looks quite similar to the older Tekken 250. It does have an off-road / ADV looks. Checking the bike from the front, this bike has a headlight like in a dirt bike which is small but is LED. Below the headlight, there is a small beak fender that gives dirt looks. More on the front, we clearly can see an upside-down suspension. This is one of the surprising things, as with this price range, we rarely see USD suspensions. Also, the roading tires give a bulky look. Then checking the handlebars and dash pod, it has a LED digital console.
Moving on the handlebar position makes the rider’s posture upright which is necessary for these types of bikes. And it looks like it will be easier to ride even while standing. The overall body looks heavy but the bike isn’t that heavy at all as it looks. It weighs around 140-150 kgs. Moreover, the tank is a metal tank that has more durability. Another thing we notice is a crash guard which was not available earlier Tekken 250.
Then moving on, the seat looks quite comfortable. It isn’t too thin as a dirt bike or neither it’s too wide. The softness for off-road riding is there which makes it comfy for both rider and pillion. The grab rails and the luggage rail are also provided on this bike. One can tie up bags or hook luggage while riding. So, it has a dual muffler below the seat which gives a dirt bike look. However, it is only a single cylinder.
Motorhead Tekken R250 is powered by a 223-cc engine which is a 4-stroke, 2-valve, single-cylinder, and air-cooled which can generate a max power of 16.9 PS @ 8000 RPM and max torque of 17 Nm @ 6500 RPM. The engine is a carburetor system rather than a fuel-injected system. This might be one of the reasons for the lower price than other bikes.
Moreover, Tekken R250 has a 6-speed manual transmission with a manual clutch. So, the compression ratio of this bike is 9.2:1 and the ignition method on this bike is DC-CDI. It has a fuel tank capacity of 14 liters. And it can provide a range of 2.2L per 100 km which is 30-35 km/l.
Dimension, Suspensions, Wheels and Brakes
This bike has a length of 2070mm where width and height are 900mm and 1210mm respectively. So, it has 820mm of seat height where the wheelbase is 1350mm. As mentioned earlier, this bike weighs around 140-155 kgs.
Also, the noticeable upside-down telescopic fork with protectors is given out on the front. The rear is provided with a mono-shock absorber with air dampers. The wheels are alloy on this bike which looks fine with the bike design. However, I would prefer spoke wheels for even short off-roading.
And it comes with a 110/90-17” Dual Sports tubeless tire on the front. Whereas, the rear tyre measure 130/80-17” which is also a Dual Sports Tubeless tyre. Alongside, it is given out disc brakes on both front and rear wheels. However, it does not have the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS). This is a negative point but is one reason for the lower price tag.
Features and Miscellaneous
It features a digital cluster on the dash pod. It has an engine kill switch and has a self-start only. And an in-built engine guard.
