KTM 250 Adventure Overview
By looks, there are hardly some differences in comparison to elder sibling 390 ADV. It does have some changes with design, but needs a closer look. First thing anyone will notice is the headlamp. The 390 ADV has the LED headlamp whereas 250 ADV comes with Halogen lamp and LED DRLs.
Then looking at the shoes, the tyres are of same size as of the 390 ADV; front has 100/90-19 and rear has 130/80-17. However, the affordable MRF tyres are provided as stock tyres. MRF tyres have a better grip. The 17-inch wheels are made up of alloy.
The 250 ADV has the same engine from 250 Duke. To be exact, 248.76 cc engine is a powerpack machine with single-cylinder liquid-cooled features. The same heart is also used in the Husqvarna 250 models: Svartpilen and Vitpilen. It generates the max power of 30 PS @ 9000 RPM and max torque of 24 Nm @ 7500 RPM. Moreover, it comes with a fuel tank of 14.5 liters and 6 speed gear box.
ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) has now become mandatory in braking systems. ADV 250 comes with dual channel ABS for more safety. But you might think, why does an ADV bike need ABS? ABS is much more about our own safety; both pedestrians and riders. Also, there is a feature to turn off the ABS if needed. So, if you want to travel off-road then you can easily turn off the ABS.
The front disc measures 320 mm in diameter and the rear disc measures 230 mm in diameter. The front has a bigger disc which is advantageous for faster braking.
One of the most important features of the bike is ABS. Others are: the TFT LCD digital console which has dark mode. This TFT LCD console was earlier seen on the KTM Duke 390 2018 model. The console can show up the clock time, average mileage and many more along with speedometer and odometer.
Windshields on adventure bikes are must. And this one has an adjustable windshield. Then, there is upside down suspension in front of WP Apex 43 mm. Similarly, the rear has another WP Apex Shock Absorber.
Moreover, it is a FI (Fuel Injection) supply engine. There is no kick starter, only self/ electric start. 4 Stroke, 4 Valve with chain drive having PASC Slipper Clutch. Talking about the mileage, company claims, it will provide 27.5 km per liter.
