Huawei at the “All Scenario Smart Life New Product” launch conference unleashed a number of eye-catching products. But the Huawei FreeBuds 4 was one of the main products unveiled. This top end TWS earbuds comes as the successor to FreeBuds 3 with Huawei Kirin A1 chip. So now let’s dive into specs, features, availability and Huawei FreeBuds 4 price in Nepal.
Huawei FreeBuds 4 Overview
Design-wise, the FreeBuds 4 carries a semi-in-ear fit as seen in its predecessor. The company has given a special attention to wearing comforts by adopting an ergonomic simulation design solution. The company claims that they have collected over ten thousands of 3D real human ear models to come up with this design. Other than that they pack the same stem-style form factor as their predecessor.
In addition, the earphones are said to fit comfortably in the user’s ear and are not stuffy even when worn for a longer period of time.
Apart from the earphones, the charging case also carries the same circular design style as the previous generation. It has been carefully designed with details thus, the volume of the headset is reduced by 6.3% and the weight by 20.8%.
Further, each earbud weighs 4.1g and the charging case weighs just 38g. It is available in three finishes Ceramic White, Frost Silver, and Honey Red. Furthermore, the buds are IPX4 certified to stand against water splashes and dust.
Audio and Noise Cancellation
In terms of sound quality, the Huawei FreeBuds 4 uses a low-frequency enhancement engine and a 14.3mm diameter large moving coil unit that is lighter and more rigid. With this the earbuds achieve a frequency response range of up to 40kHz. Also the bass is improved.
For noise cancellation, it gets an upgraded semi-open active noise reduction 2.0 technology. Likewise, it packs a dual microphone hybrid noise reduction and improved algorithm with a noise reduction depth of 25dB. It allows the microphone to accurately pick up ambient noise and is sensitive to pick up the residual noise in the ear to achieve a more accurate elimination. Similarly, the high sensitivity microphone can record audio with a sampling rate of up to 48KHz preserving the details.
Besides that, the Huawei FreeBuds 4 supports adaptive ear noise reduction (AEM) and adaptive matching algorithms. What it does is automatically detect the user’s ear type, wearing conditions and matches the best noise reduction parameters.
Moreover, it also comes with a special voice clear mode for vloggers which claims better picking of voice in a noisy environment.
Nevertheless, the Freebuds 4 comes with latency as low as 90ms delivering accurate audio during gaming sessions. On the contrary the previous generation had 190ms latency. Unfortunately, it is limited to Huawei phones running on Harmony OS.
Connectivity and Controls
For connectivity, the FreeBuds 4 connects over Bluetooth v5.2 that supports dual connections with mobile phones, tablets, PCs, watches, and smart screens. The connection pop-up function will appear on Huawei smartphones, PCs and other devices for pairing information. Likewise, the audio connection center keeps track of the last 10 connected devices so that you can switch between them seamlessly with one click.
Moving over to controls, each earbud comes with three-level touch controls. A long press on either earbud will enable or disable noise cancellation or reject calls. Likewise, a double press will play/pause media, accept calls, or skip the playing track. Lastly, an up/down sliding gesture on either bud lets you adjust volume intensity.
Battery and Miscellaneous
Each earbud consists of a 30mAh battery and the charging case carries 410mAh battery. The earbuds are rated for 4 hours of playback on and up to 22hours with the charging case. Meanwhile, with just 15minutes of charging, you will get 2.5hours of playback. The case can charge over USB Type-C or wirelessly on any Qi-compatible charger.
