Honor has launched its new fitness band in the home country China. This fitness band is the successor to the Honor Band 5. The Band 6 blurs the line between smartband and smartwatch as it looks more like a smartwatch. It is the world’s first fitness tracker with a full-screen display and comes with and without NFC. Honor Band 6 Overview
Display and Design
Honor Band 6 packs a 1.47” AMOLED panel with a resolution of 194×368 pixels and 2.5D glass. The screen is 148% bigger compared to Honor Band 5. This time there are no capacitive keys as it uses gesture navigation like on smartphones. However, there is a physical button with a red accent on the right to wake up the screen. Whereas the left side features HONOR branding.
The watch itself comes in black colour however users can choose between Meteorite Black, Seagull Grey, and Coral Powder coloured straps. Similarly, it comes with 100+ different watch faces. Likewise, it is water resistant to up to 50meters in depth for 10 minutes.
The smartband comes with 10 different sports modes with automatic tracking. It can track exercises like indoor/outdoor running, indoor/outdoor walking, and elliptical machines automatically. Also, it does blood oxygen level monitoring, HUAWEI TruSeen™ 4.0 24-hour heart-rate monitoring, HUAWEI TruSleep™ sleep monitoring as well as women menstrual cycle monitoring. Here, the HUAWEI TruSleep technology can offer up to 200+ sleep improvement tips and recognizes six different sleep problems. Similarly, the company says that the band can warn users about atrial fibrillation and premature beats using the new atrial fibril risk prediction algorithm.
The Band 6 uses the Bluetooth 5.0 for connecting to smartphones. Once connected, the smartband will display all sorts of notifications. Also, users can control music playback with it. Additionally, the NFC model also supports contactless payment and voice assistants.
Further, using the smartphone companion app users will be able to change a wide variety of watch faces.
Battery and Miscellaneous
This smartband packs a 180mAh battery which provides up to 14-day of battery life. It can be charged using a magnetic charge. Further, HONOR has included fast charging capabilities.
Honor Band 6 Price and Availability in Nepal
As the Honor Band 6 is available in two variants, the base model costs 249 yuan and NFC model costs 289 yuan. Both the models are available for pre-order in China. Similarly, they will receive their first sale starting November 11 in China.
HONOR hasn’t mentioned international availability but eventually it will be launched globally. We expect the price of Honor Band 6 in Nepal to start from Rs 5000.
