Honda Hornet 2.0, a new bike by Honda under 200-cc segment has launched successfully in Nepal. Though Honda is late in this 200-cc street bike segment, still it will be a good competition for Bajaj NS 200 and TVS Apache RTR 200.

Honda Hornet 2.0 Overview
Design
The Hornet 2.0 has a much aggressive look then the Hornet 160R. Headlamp is similar looking but 2.0 has a sharper edge which gives aggressive looks. The handles and side mirrors are almost similar, having unnoticeable changes. Then the fuel tank is also a bit more aggressive looking than the 160R. One big noticeable change is the upside-down telescopic fork at front.
Also, the foot peg is centered with the body so that rider can comfortable upright position. And body parts are mostly plastic made which helps in weight distribution. Further, the rear pillion seat comes as a split seat where 160R has one long seat. Thought, seats look comfortable too. It has a grab rail beside the pillion seat. Moreover, Hornet 2.0 weighs 142 Kgs which is perfect for a street bike under 200cc segment.

Engine
Honda Hornet 2.0 comes with a 184.4 cc 4-stroke, 2-valve, BS6 engine. It is a single cylinder, air cooled, SI engine. And it can generate a max power of 17.26 PS @ 8500 RPM and max torque of 16.1 Nm @ 6000 RPM. Competing with the Bajaj Pulsar 200NS, it has less power cause NS 200 has 199.5 cc displacement engine. Same thing with the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V which comes with 197.75. Hornet 2.0 is an upgrade of Hornet 160R, so comparing with it, 160R has 15.09 PS of max power and 14.5 NM of Torque.
Further, the fuel tank capacity is same that is 12 liters which is enough for a street bike. And company claims that, it gives mileage of 35-40 Km/l. Also, this machine comes with FI (Fuel Injection) System. Moreover, it comes with a 5-speed manual transmission gear box and has only self-starter with multiplate wet clutch.
Wheels and Suspensions
The Hornet 2.0 comes with a 17-inch Aluminum alloy wheels both front and rear. And the front tire measures 110/70-17” size tubeless. Similarly, rear comes with 140/70-17” tubeless tires. Further, it is built with an upside-down (USD) telescopic fork at front and the rear is built with mono shock suspension.

Braking and Miscellaneous
The front and rear both are provided with disc brakes. So, the front disc measures 276 mm in diameter. And the rear disc measures 220 mm in diameter. Further, for safety, it is provided with single channel ABS (Anti-lock Braking System).
HORNET 2.0 features a new digital console with all necessary indicators. ODO meter, tripmeter and fuel level are all digitally shown in the console. It is available in four color options: Matte Axis Grey Metallic, Pearl Igneous Black, Matte Marvel Blue Metallic and Matte Sangria Red Metallic
