DJI Pocket 2 Overview
Body and Design
The exterior design of the Pocket 2 is like its predecessor. It has a small grip topped with a camera mounted on a three-axis gimbal, with upgraded internals. However, it is slightly bigger and heavier measuring 124.7 x 38.1 x 30mm and weighs 117gm. Despite that, it is still compact enough to fit in your pocket.
The Pocket 2 spots a modular design with a removable plate. You can add new accessories to it as your requirement. Compatible accessories include DJI’s “Do-It-All” handle, wide-angle lens, and a waterproof housing. Similarly, it can be used as a standalone stabilized camera or connected to mobile devices through a wired coaction or wirelessly to remote controls.
Camera

DJI Pocket 2 packs a larger 1/1.7” image sensor compared to the original’s ½.3” CMOS sensor. Its lens offers a wider 20mm field-of view with an aperture of f/1.8 compared to 26mm f/2.0 last time around. Thus, the larger sensor and wider lens makes it a better option for those who need stabilized footage. Similarly, the pixel has been increased from 12MP to 64MP. However, the maximum video quality s unchanged at 4K/60fps at 100Mbps.
Moreover, user get option to shoot either in 64MP or 16MP. The camera can handle 8x zoom when in 64MP node and while stepping down to the 16MP mode it offers 4x lossless zoom. Further, the company says that the focus system has also been improved compared to previous generation.
Audio
Speaking of audio, DJI has doubled the microphones compared to OSMO Pocket (i.e. four). The company claims says that these microphones has been statically placed clear of holding area. Similarly, the new microphone array is capable of adjusting the audio its recording based on the position of the camera. Further, it also has audio zoom feature like what we’ve seen in recent Samsung smartphones which narrows down the sound field when the camera zooms.
Also, you have an option to join external microphone through wired connection or wirelessly.
Features
DJI Pocket 2 comes with the following set of built-in features:
- Pro Mode to manually adjust camera settings
- ActiveTrack 3.0 to effectively track a subject
