Apple iMac 2021 finally launched in Nepal

The Californian tech giant delighted its fans by unveiling a completely redesigned iMac at its event back in April. The new iMac not only comes with an M1 chip inside but also comes in multiple color choices. Anyway, now they are available for purchase in Nepal. Here, we’ll be discussing about the specifications, features and official price of Apple M1 iMac 24 (2021)

Design

There’s no doubt that the iMac are the world’s most iconic computers and now they have been completely revamped. The new iMac are thinner, more compact with remarkable design and several colors. To be exact they are just 11.5mm thick. Thanks to the system-on-chip architecture and amazing power efficiency of M1 which I’ll get into in just a second. According to the company, it occupies 50% less volume.

The new iMac comes in a spectrum of seven vibrant colors: green, yellow, orange, pink, purple, blue, and silver. It will definitely lighten up your personal space unlike any other computers. Similarly, the colors are lighter and borders are slim. However, the massive chin still exists under the screen, but it can be forgiven as it houses a powerful acoustics, consisting of six speakers and motherboard. Moreover, it also comes with a new power connector with matching color which attaches magnetically and is 2-meter long.

Moreover, the iMac comes in two different variants. There’s no drastic design changes among them but the higher end variant comes with more ports and dual fans. The 8-coer GPU variant receives dual fans whereas the base 7-core GPU models equips only single fans.

Moving on, every iMac features 4 USB-C ports (2x USB 4/Thunderbolt, 2x USB 3) for superfast data transfers, giving customers high-performance options to connect to more devices, including support for up to a 6K display, like Apple Pro Display XDR. They also feature a 3.5mm headphone jack.

However, the 8-core iMac configuration receives two additional USB-C ports and also features an Ethernet port.

Additionally, the iMac are complemented with a new Magic keyboard, Magic mouse, and trackpad that have matching colors with the machine. Similarly, the wireless keyboard can be configured with a Touch ID also

Display

Apple has always delivered the best in class display with its iMac. And it is no exception as it features a 24-inch 4.5K Retina display.  The panel has 11.3 million pixels, boasts P3 wide color gamut and supports over a billion colors. Similarly, it uses a True Tone technology which automatically adjust the color temperature based on your environment. Further, it has a peak brightness of 500 nits. Additionally, the display comes with an industry-leading anti-reflective coating for greater comfort and readability.

Moving on the top bezel features a 1080p FaceTime HD camera, the best ever in a Mac. According to Apple, it takes advantage of the image signal processor in the M1 chip and the Neural Engine. Thus, enhances image quality with better noise reduction, greater dynamic range, and improved auto exposure and white balance.

To complement the camera, there’s also a studio-quality three-microphone array for clearer calls and voice recordings. And as I have already mentioned, it gets six speakers sound system that supports spatial audio with Dolby Atmos. Also, the mic supports homegrown voice assistant “Hey Siri”.

Performance

It’s no surprise that the latest Apple’s iMac 2021 model is powered with the M1 chip. With the power, efficiency and performance of M1 chip and MacOS Big Sur, Apple has been successful in trimming down the thermals. As a result, these machines are thin and compact.

Moving on, the iMac 24-inch 2021 comes in to variant packing either 8-core CPU and 7-core GPU or 8-core CPU and 8-core GPU. Both the variants are coupled with either 8 or 16GB of unified RAM and up to 2TB of SSD storage. Besides that, it also comes with a 16-core Apple Neural Engine.

With all of the above combined the new iMac delivers up to 85% faster CPU performance, up to 2x faster GPU performance and up to 3x faster machine learning compare to standard 21.5-inch iMac
